Cleantech Open Global Ideas competition is a search for breakthrough cleantech ideas in one of six industry categories; air water & waste, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, smart power and transportation. Entrants answer questions online and develop a short venture pitch on video. Through regional and national competition rounds, the best teams progress to the Global Finals in Silicon Valley in November each year. International finalists will participate in the Cleantech Open Global Forum, the Expo, mentoring sessions and additional activities that will connect them to potential partners, customers and investors from Silicon Valley and around the world.The Australian Winner qualifies to compete as Australia's representative in this global competition.
Sustainia 100 and Awards, Denmark
Sustainia100 is an annual guide to 100 innovative solutions from around the world that presents readily available projects, initiatives and technologies at the forefront of sustainable transformation. The solutions in our 2013 edition of Sustainia100 are deployed in two thirds of the world’s countries – including Kenya, India, Mexico and South Africa, making the Sustainia100 guide reflect innovation from the traditional western hubs as well as parts of the world that are normally not well covered. Sustainia100 presents sustainable solutions in 10 key sectors, spanning from energy, transportation to fashion, food and education. Sustainia100 gives investors, regional developers, business leaders, politicians, and consumers in-depth insights to the most promising projects and technologies within their field. From our list of 100 sustainable solutions, Sustainia100, an award committee led by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger reviews and selects a winner to be announced at the grand Sustainia Award Ceremony in Copenhagen every autumn. Finalists in the Australian Technologies Competition are fast tracked for assessment for the Sustainia 100.
TechConnect Global Innovation Award
Accelerating the Commercialization of Global InnovationTechConnect World is uniquely designed to accelerate the commercialization of innovations, out of the lab and into industry. TechConnect World is divided into a Technical Research Program and an Innovation Partnering Program, gathering the world's leading market-focused research and commercially-viable innovations into the largest global technology accelerator program. Join leading funding agencies, national and federal labs, universities, tech transfer offices, and investment and corporate partners as we accelerate the commercialization of the world's top innovations. Finalists from the Australian Technologies Competition will be fast tracked for assessment for the TechConnect Innovation Awards.
The Global Cleantech Later Stage Award vets the most promising later stage companies across the globe, awarding the best with the exposure they need to succeed. Companies compete in 10 categories, including solar, wind, water, energy efficiency and more. The judges of the later stage award have invested over $3.5 billion into cleantech globally.The Later Stage Award seeks to not only highlight out the most promising new technologies, but lay the groundwork for those yet to come. Therefore to win, companies must be nominated by a GCCA member cluster. This process bolsters cluster organizations with successful companies and ensures the benefits bestowed on the winners trickle down to others within their member cluster.Ten of the Semi Finalists are nominated each year to be the Australian competitors in the GCCA's Late Stage Awards.
Global Cleantech Cluster Association Late Stage Awards
The Energy Excelerator is a startup program dedicated to helping solve the world's energy challenges, starting in Hawaii. We help innovative companies succeed in Hawaii and the Asia Pacific with funding, strategic relationships, and a vibrant ecosystem. Our program is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Office of Naval Research and operates as a project of the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR).
Energy Excelerator will open up applications for its 2015 program on June 1 2014. In this upcoming round we are looking for companies focused on innovations around the edge of the power grid, from energy storage companies to smart grid developers to distributed clean energy innovators.
